In addition to pinning pictures and URLs, Pinterest enables users to pin places they're interested in visiting. By pinning a location, you'll receive tips on how to visit and contact the owners immediately. If using an Android device, it can even remind users when they're nearby the spot so they never forget to visit the pin.

👻 Make pinning a breeze with Pin Search.

When you come across something interesting without a link attached, your first instinct may be to Google it. Instead of switching apps, simply tap the "Search" button at the top of the picture which automatically puts your image into Google image search to find where that thing came from.

😜 Try uploading images in portraits.

Did you know that Facebook users prefer landscape images while Instagram favors square ones? The same goes for Pinterest - users here prefer portraits. This means you can experiment with aspect ratios such as 2:3 or 1:3.5. While images with a 1:3.5 aspect ratio may be too tall to fully expand automatically, they contain more information which is exactly what viewers want.

😎 Keep your pins hidden with "Secret Boards".

What if you find something awesome but don't want others to see it? Pinterest allows users to hide their pins using the "Secret Boards" feature - no one will be able to add your pin unless you give them access.
